Irit Block

it Block grew up with artistic interests and an enriched education in music, literature and cinema. As a young adult she traveled the world, focusing on India and the far east, and tried her hand at different art forms and professions.  She found painting to be her most natural mode of expression and continued to pursue its refinement at the Bezalel Academy of Fine Arts and Design. She graduated in 2006 complete with a semester spent studying and creating in Hamburg, Germany.

Block uses a distorted aesthetic, realistic or abstract to portray the deep yet subtle emotional connection people have with their surroundings. Block plays with various mediums, sizes and themes, mirroring the progress of her life from a student to a wife and then a mother in America and in Israel.

Shows and exhibits include several Bank Leumi exhibits, a solo exhibit in Bet Shmuel in 2007, group show in Mevaseret Zion gallery in 2008, and a group exhibit in memory of the artist Pesach Slavoski in 2021.
