Jonathan Hemley is the Founder and CEO of the Hemley Gallery. His family are writers and artists. Hemley’s father, Cecil Hemley, and cousin Adolph Gotttlieb, were major figures in the establishment of modern American art. Cecil Hemley was one of the founders of Forum 49 before Jonathan Hemley was born and Gottlieb was a major abstract expressionist. They started Forum 49 out of Provincetown, MA.
Ira (Cowfy) Kaufman , Art Director, is an abstractionist artist who not only has had a successful career as an expressionist painter but also managed the very successful Brata Gallery in Manhattan for five years.
Hemley and Kaufman want to focus on established but undervalued artists to bring them more recognition.
